How to be productive starts with your IKIGAI

What does IKIGAI mean? IKIGAI is a Japanese living good secret that works for many years.

Finding your IKIGAI will help you discover what career or business path that suits you to be excited to get out of bed each morning energized, motivated with a clear purpose.

If you are just like me who want to travel and work at your own pace, you need to find amazing things about yourself that you can share with the world (your target market). I mean these people will thank you and pay you for what you can give them.

IKIGAI is seen as the convergence of four primary elements:

  • What you love (your passion)
  • Knowing what the world needs (your mission)
  • Discovering what you are good at (your vocation)
  • Identifying what you can get paid for (your profession)

Finding your IKIGAI will not ONLY help you to accelerate your income, but to help you find your purpose in life, to be happier, and create a path to success that is actually more fulfilling.

How to be productive tip #1: Let's begin with the things that you love

Don’t censor yourself. Write everything that comes to your mind. There is no right and wrong answer in doing this. Our aim is to build your own business around the things that you love doing to maximize your earnings.

Start by answering these questions:

  • Do you remember what you loved doing as a child?
  • Think back to your childhood, what did you do for fun?
  • What are the activities you’re interested in when there was no pressure from your parents?
  • At work, what are your responsibilities?
  • Does any of your passion fit in with the company you’re working in?
  • Does any of your passion fit in with what you do now or with your business?

It’s all about you and I want you to trust the process.

Productivity tip #2: Knowing what the world needs

Your mission is what the world needs that matches with what you know and what you love to do. You need to keep your eyes open to see what other people want to get help with because if you can give it to them, this will be more likely your business mission.

Often when someone is struggling with something, they just don’t have the energy to do things for themselves. Or probably don’t know how to solve their problem by themselves.

For this reason, your mission is to offer your help by being there for them. Your mission is about putting yourself in their shoes and visualizing what you would want if you were in a similar situation.

Ask yourself, what the world’s need that I can give?

And look at the things that you know, your experiences how do you help someone else? Your friends, colleagues, your children?

  • What do you love helping people with?
  • When you were in college, what did you tend to do?
  • What kind of organizations did you join?
  • List down some compliments did you receive from teachers, friends, and families?
  • What made you stand out as a child?
  • Identify what made you stand out at work?

When it comes to finding a mission, you need to think about it as a process of spotting pursuits that are worthy for now and are flexible to change it later.

The objective of knowing your mission is to commit yourself to, with the expectation that it will keep you motivated, and feeling passionate forever to succeed in becoming your own boss.

Your passions, what the world needs, your skill sets, and what you can get paid for will all likely go through many iterations throughout your lifetime.

Begin writing down how your skill or expertise can match in solving people’s problems.

  • What is your biggest gift?
  • What are your accomplishments?
  • How can it be returned to the world?

How to be productive tip #3: What you are good at?

A great way to find out more about yourself is to ask your spouse, children, friends, and all those people in your contacts. Ask what they think you’re good or best at.

Once you already collected some feedbacks, look for patterns. Understand any character traits that come up frequently that lots of people identified what you are good at will most likely be your no.1 strength. So you can verify it by asking yourself the same question and see if you agree.

So use this strength on how to be productive in doing what you love and build a business around it. You will always be growing your skills as you make your transition to becoming your own boss.

If you don’t pay attention to your strengths, you might be sabotaging your effort of not being productive and focused. In order to succeed in what you love doing, you need to use your own unique strength.

So, what is that strength that you want to use and grow?

Productivity tip #4: What you can get paid for?

Finding the sweet spot of getting paid to do what you love is something we should all strive towards.

You’re reading this because you want to improve your productivity skills to maximize your profits. Understand if you want to be a successful business owner, emotions and money just don’t mix in business. And this is why many people were victimized by shinny object syndrome without maximizing their self-worth.

Just remember that the talent you have been given has value! Use it.

You have gifts and abilities that sometimes you just take for granted.

Have you ever been paid for what you love to do?

Are you already making a good living doing what you love?

Or can you eventually make a good living doing what you love?

If you could create something, write about, or teach about — a product, a piece of art, a piece of advice, what would you leave as your legacy?

What if you could create something utilizing a skill that you already have, what would that be?

Final thoughts

If you follow and stick with the process of finding your IKIGAI, you can immediately get focused, be productive doing what you love, be happier, and even accelerate your income faster. So take the time to find your IKIGAI, so you can map out your day-to-day smart action plan in setting goals without any distraction.

Now, do you want to be productive and get focused on what you love doing? Create your own path to freedom and purpose because no one does it for you.
