Passive Income Ideas as a Product Vendor With ClickBank

You do NOT need any business degree nor a big investment capital to start generating passive income from ClickBank. Trust me, I’ve done everything legit! I’m here to teach you how to get started in a way that works for you.

Now, let’s dive into it because ClickBank is already such a well-known platform, that trust already exists by product sellers.

How to Get Started as a ClickBank Product Vendor

Step 1: Sign-up with ClickBank as a seller.

If you want to have full control of how much passive income you want to make, first is to create an account with ClickBank as a seller here.

Signing up for a ClickBank account is free. However, once your product has been approved, there’s a $49.95 one-time activation fee. But if your product is not approved, you don’t need to pay ClickBank anything.

As a product vendor, you need to have a product to sell.

Our aim: To sell digital products and not physical products to avoid any hassles of inventory and delivery.

If you have no idea how to create your own digital product, I invite you to sign up for my free training videos here where I cover everything for you.

What is a Digital Product?

A digital product is a piece of content delivered through a digital form that customers can instantly download.

Here are some examples of digital products

Ebook, online courses in video format, apps, audiobooks, or audio recording that can be sold and distributed repeatedly online without the need to replenish inventory and do the shipping.

The no. 1 reason why we want to focus on selling digital products is that digital products have the highest potential to automate.

Step 2: Acquire your unique domain name.

ClickBank does not provide web hosting and does not support subdomains such as Wix, Blogspot, Squarespace, etc.

Remember that your domain name is as much a part of your business branding to dominate in your industry.

I recommend that you incorporate your profitable keywords strategically with your domain name. Because search engines use your domain name to understand what your site is about and help determine search rankings.

I use Namecheap to host my two business websites – Mybizbreakthroughs and  TravelWithJeng

Namecheap offers greater security and stability, and if you are not a techie like me, they provide the best and efficient support team.

Tips in Choosing a Domain Name:

Choose a domain name that is relevant to your business.

For example, if you’re creating a digital product about gluten-free baking, then explore a domain name like “glutenfreekitchen.com” or “glutenfreediet.com”.

Because it’s vital that your website reflect your blog’s brand in a way that appeals to your target clients.

Make sure it's easy to spell and type

Your visitors should be able to spell, type, and remember your domain name without a problem. You do not want to give a hard time for your readers to mistype your domain name for them to land on another website.

Avoid hyphens and double letters

Double letters and hyphens increase the chances of typo errors.

Also, understand that users will not take the time to use hyphens in search engine queries. If you used after a no-hyphenated domain name, you may face trademark issues.

So, act quickly before someone else takes your domain name. Here’s how you can bring your ideas to life with Namecheap – just type your relevant domain name ideas here to see if it’s available for you.

Step 3: Work with affiliates.

You have to understand to effectively market a product with a low marketing budget, low effort, and time, is to have an army of affiliates to help you promote your products.

Because the moment you stop promoting your product it’s the moment it stops getting exposure and sales.

You might have to make a sale here and there from people stumbling into it, but you also need to actively promote it to keep making sales with the help of your affiliates.

Why ClickBank?

Once your product show up in popular searches and categories on ClickBank, many new affiliates will find you and begin to promote your products.

Using a platform like ClickBank to sell your digital products allows you to work with affiliates automatically. So other bloggers and influencers in your industry can promote your products and get a cut from a sale.

Working with affiliates is vital if you want to generate passive income online to supplement your income for the long term.

I have a team of affiliates that keeps growing and they are part of my marketing plan.

They get to share my products with their audiences, and in return, for every sale made, they get 50-70% commission from me. (Check out my affiliate program here!)

Step 4: Set up your affiliate program.

Affiliates basically offer you word-of-mouth marketing and because you only have to pay them when they made a sale, which can be so powerful strategy of paying for performance rather than for clicks.

Making passive income with affiliates is a low-risk form of marketing.

Reach out to people in your industry who you think would be a good fit to promote your product is crucial if you want to generate passive income online successfully.

Then, make it as easy as possible for them to promote your products (offer things like pre-made graphics, email swipe copies, and more!) and you’re on your way to building your very own affiliate army.

What is an affiliate program?

An affiliate program is a webpage that you can create in order to provide information and branding content to affiliates.

Affiliates access this webpage through the ClickBank Affiliate Marketplace makes it easier for affiliates to have a head start when it comes to making sales, and promoting your products.

Step 5: List your product in the ClickBank marketplace.

The ClickBank affiliate network is an extremely effective channel that can be used to draw attention to your product and increase your income. We will use ClickBank to get affiliates to help you sell your product.

The beauty of having an army of affiliates with ClickBank is they already have a large audience, are already well-established, and have an advertising budget.

The good thing about the ClickBank affiliate network is that you only pay affiliates a commission when they made a sale.

When ClickBank affiliates look for products to promote, they often start at the ClickBank Marketplace. Make sure you add your product to the ClickBank marketplace listing to get their attention.

Steps on how you can do that:

  • Log in to your ClickBank account.
  • Click the vendor setting tab.
  • Go to marketplace information, click “Edit”. Choose a category and subcategory that most closely fits your product.
  • Set your marketplace title: The marketplace title is a hook that describes what kind of products and offers an affiliate might be interested in.  Put your most profitable keywords at the beginning of the title.
  • Other information: In this section, you can add information about your product or any other interesting details about your product that could attract the attention of potential affiliates.
  • Commission: This field is where you provide the commission rate for your account. To attract affiliates, then you need to be generous with your commissions. The commission should be within the range of 50% to 75%.
  • Affiliate tools URL: The affiliates tools page is a page that you will create to provide your affiliates with all the marketing tools related to your product branding.
  • Affiliate support email address: Provide your email for affiliates to get in touch with you.
  • HopLink target URL: This is the link to your pitch page or sales page.
  • Mobile HopLink target URL: The link to your pitch page or sales page.

The HopLink Target URL is the primary landing page of your Marketplace Listing and the page that affiliate HopLinks will direct to.

Once you’re done. Save changes.

Step 6: Keep your affiliates in the loop.

I run an affiliate newsletter that keeps my affiliates in the loop when I run sales or when anything changes about my products.

This is also the best way to keep your affiliates motivated by making them feel like a valued part of your team.

In order for you to send the newsletter to your affiliate partners, first is you need to create your affiliate sign-up form.

This is an opt-in form where you can collect their contact information in exchange for all the marketing resources they need and have a head start to make a sale in promoting your product.

See below example of my opt-in form for the MyBizbreakthroughs affiliate program.

GetResponse is an email service provider I use to send emails to my affiliates.

You can segment your list and automate emails to go out to your subscribers. With this, you don’t keep pestering the old ones with the same news all over again.

When you create an email funnel whether for an affiliate program or for your product lead magnet, your email list is an asset that you can have complete ownership of.

And having your own mailing lists will allow you to engage, provide value, build trust, and promote your product launches.

Step 7: Do blogging and content marketing.

Want more readers and organic traffic? Blog posts with your profitable keywords!

Content is king for this main reason. If you are looking for something on the internet –  whether how to lower your blood sugar or looking for the best dog trainer in your area, where do you normally go?

You go to Google Search looking for answers.

By providing content for those searches and by providing answers, you’re able to attract readers and convert more of your target customers to buy your products.

And the easiest way to write content is to specifically talk to the people who have the problem that your product is solving.

Imagine if you had 10 passive income streams contents on your website. Or perhaps 100 content with your profitable keywords?

You can then attract people who are looking up information about that particular topic and then introduce your product on your blog post.

For example, when I launched my Design Your Year Goal-Setting Kit Printable on Etsy (my other passive income stream), I create content about goal-setting topics like how to set up goals so that I attract a relevant audience who are struggling to set up their goals.

People browse organic results on Google looking for answers to their questions and problems.

So you are not only offering value to your readers for free, but you’re forming strategically your passive income framework for them to buy your product and promoting it in a very organic way.

Content is king for branding.  Give it a try!

Final Thoughts

My best tip on how to make passive income with ClickBank is to plan it out before you even get your affiliates involved because spending your time creating a product that no one will pay you in exchange is a waste of time.

Time is the most precious commodity you can have because you cannot bring back your lost time. Use it to work smartly.
