I remember when I first went out on my own to build my business startup

I’ve worked for myself for eight years now and I never stop improving my own client acquisition process on how to get clients for my business.

I ‘m sure that you are like me with a limited budget to spend on marketing… 

So we need to use it carefully and do it correctly to get the right clients suited for our business or services.

How To Get Clients For Your Consulting Business

1. Don't waste your time with your less important market

Choose carefully who is your primary market is. 

Go directly for them and them only. 

And get good at them and later you get to worry about your less important market (your secondary market). 

I am not saying not to market to a lot of people, but let’s take the rice cooker first of your business…

So, you can make a living, do well, and then you add more afterward.

2. Create a minimum viable offer (MVO)

If you deliver your offer with no benefits – without solving a problem or fulfill any desires, then this will NOT attract anyone. 

A minimum viable offer is a good enough offer to attract your first client.

An MVO is an offer that provides the smallest number of benefits necessary to make a sale.

Creating a minimum viable offer helps you gather feedback from potential customers quickly.

This is one of the best business startup formula on how to get clients for your business.

If you don’t structure your MVO (minimum viable offer) from day one, then things are pretty much guaranteed to fall apart.

Setting poor expectations.

3. Find a niche market

Most consultants and online entrepreneurs are afraid to choose a niche.

People would rather work with someone who specializes in their needs.

They’ll pay more for a specialist who can solve their issues.

It is better to tune your message and solution that resonates deep into your market needs. 

Because when you get on the same vibration as your market niche, then you will structure everything correctly.

What everybody is saying is I am, we are, I do, I sell instead of listening and providing them what they need. 

People don’t care about your qualifications, or how many likes you have on Facebook…

What your clients care about is…

How you will bridge the gap for them – from their current situation to their desired situation. 

4. Focus on your KPI (key performance indicator)

Most consultants and coaches have a scattered approach to marketing.

They spend hours posting to Instagram, doing FB Live videos, engaging on their Facebook newsfeed, and more.

This leads to discouragement, burn out, frustrations, and they wonder why they cannot seal a deal.

Most consultants and coaches don’t even know their own customer acquisition cost –  how much they are willing to pay to acquire a client. 

Below is a screenshot of one of my lead generation business campaigns with Google Adwords. You will see my conversion rate ranges from 80%-100% and my average conversion cost is about $0.95/conversion.

If you don’t set your client acquisition process properly, this is like you are burning money for nothing.

Every consultant or business owner should have a clear business goal and plan of action towards their business goals. You will see below how I set my client acquisition process for me to have full control when I want to open or close my traffic floodgates.

What is Native Ads?

Another traffic method that I use to get clients are native ads.

Native advertising looks like regular content that you cannot tell it’s an ad.

So the readers may not realize they are consuming a paid advertisement.

You can see native ads when you are reading an article from Forbes, CNN, Business Newsweek, National Geographic, etc etc.

I personally use Revcontent because it is more affordable and more flexible for me.

As you can see below, I can drive hundreds or hundreds of thousands of traffic to my business at any time I want as long as that I have the budget.
