Most business start ups, they are looking  for FREE platforms to build their website.  Yes, there are different places to get free websites, but you need to think twice because: First, you don’t own them.  Second, you do not have the full control over it and third, they are harder to get ranked in Google search engine (it’s hard for people to find you). Never, ever make the mistake of creating a free website if you are really serious to create your breakthrough journey in starting your business.

Your domain name is your identity on the web; you want to make sure you choose a name that not only fits your business, but is also easy to find and promote.

GET A WEB HOST

Websites are hosted, or stored, on special computers called servers. The web host houses all your website files. This is where you go to create email addresses, install beautiful templates, payment plug-ins, install software for shopping cart, online store and so much more.  NameCheap provides both domain and hosting services. When you make a website and want other people to see it, you will need to publish (or upload) it with a web hosting service.  Choose different hosting package here! Once you already signed up for a web host, the domain you are using will need to be set up to point to your new hosting service. INSTALL WORDPRESS (FOR FREE)

Once you already gotten your domain and already signed up for hosting, you’re now ready to build your website from scratch.  Wordpress is a free content management system (CMS).  People often make the mistake of classifying WordPress as just a blogging platform. Wordpress allows you to create a fully functional websites and mobile applications. Just log in to your Cpanel (your log-in information will be emailed to you by your domain/hosting provider).

Click WordPress as shown below inside your Cpanel

Click Install Now as shown below

  Next, go to your browser and  type “your domain name.com/wp-admin/” (replace the red font colors with your own domain name) You should see something like this…     WordPress comes with thousands of free themes, so you don’t have to spend any money on your website template design if you don’t want to. On your wordpress dashboard (left hand side) just simply click Appearance>>Themes>>> and you can start customizing your website theme that is suited for your business.     You can now start choosing your own theme from various free themes provided by wordpress.  You may also take note that many free themes has limited applications when it comes to design customizations (unless you are a programmer).   If within your budget, I recommend going with a premium theme because you will be offered more design options.  I personally used Sensible Modern themes.  Click here for help in choosing the right modern theme for wordpress.
